Delivery time

Materials must be received no later than two business days prior to the publication date in order to guarantee publication on the agreed-upon date.

Example:
For publication on Friday, materials must be submitted by Wednesday at the latest (provided there are no holidays in between).

Material received later cannot be guaranteed to be included as agreed.

Upon delivery, please specify:

• Reservation number
• Publication date
• Contact person at Schibsted

Important:

Materials must comply with the respective format's dimensional specifications and General Guidelines – Print.

Settings

To ensure that advertisements are published on the agreed-upon date, the material must be received by the newspaper at least two business days prior to publication.
SvD does not retrieve ad material from the customer’s website/FTP server or via download services.

The advertisement must be submitted as a PDF formatted for Svensk Dagspress.

Material Requirements/Responsibilities

• The surface area must match the reserved size (width x height)
• No passport or screen marks should be included
• The finished material is delivered as a PDF optimized for daily newspapers

We do not recommend exporting PDFs directly from:

• Photoshop
• Canva
• Office applications

(as the files may not be printable)

Color and image

All colors must be in CMYK.

• Color images must be CMYK-separated using ICC profiles and job options (zip)
• All images must have a resolution of 200 dpi
• Total ink coverage: max 240%

Responsibility for any loss of quality due to scaling lies with the person submitting the material.

Logos should be vectorized for best results.

All colors used must be created for four-color process printing:

• (C) cyan, (M) magenta, (Y) yellow, (K) black

NOTE: The dot size in the mid-range is 20%.

The total ink coverage in images, spot colors, and text must not exceed 240% to prevent smudging in the print.

Text and layout

• Black text must be 100% black (K) – not a CMYK mixture
• QR codes must be 100% black (K)

Avoid using negative text on a multicolored background. Even the slightest misalignment will make the text unreadable.

If negative text is used:

• at least 12 pt, semi-bold, sans-serif font

On a solid-color background:

• at least 10 points

Font

All fonts must be included in the PDF file
All fonts used in the ad (including those in logos) must be included

File requirements

PDF/X-1a allows RGB and spot colors—the standard does not guarantee that unauthorized color spaces will not be included.
⚠️ Ads created in Canva are not accepted, as they are not printable.

File naming conventions

The file should be named:

• reservation number
• advertiser's name
• effective date

Example:
101332_annonsorsnamn_1025.pdf

Avoid:

• space
• a, e, o
• / (slash)

For the ad's booking number, contact your sales representative.

Responsibility

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the high-resolution PDF file is created in accordance with the material specifications.
Otherwise, print quality cannot be guaranteed.

The newspaper

The newspaper is responsible for:

• ripping
• transfer between the newspaper and the printing plant
• that the sheet metal production is calibrated

The newspaper is also responsible for ensuring that printing is carried out in accordance with the current standards of Svensk Dagspress, with correct density values for the printing inks.

Material format

• Material must be delivered as a print-ready PDF for Swedish daily newspapers.
• PDFs of daily newspapers must not contain crop marks or registration marks
  

Color and image

• All colors must be in CMYK.
• Color separation should be done with ICC and job options.
• Images must have a minimum resolution of 200 dpi.
• Total color quantity must not exceed 240%.
• Black text and QR codes must be 100% black (K).
  

Font and file

• All fonts must be embedded in the PDF file.
• PDF exported directly from tools such as Canva/Office is not recommended.
  

Time requirements

Materials must be available at least two weekdays before introduction.
