After a hiatus of nearly three years, the Omni podcast is finally back—as the first step in a major push into audio and video content from Omni.
Every weekday morning at 6:30 a.m., Omni Podd brings you the most important news in ten minutes —so you know what’s going on.
The podcast launched in 2018 and quickly grew to attract hundreds of thousands of listens per week. Nearly three years ago, the podcast went on hiatus, but on Monday, August 31, it made a comeback—with Omnis’s Olivia Wikström Demred behind the microphone. It’s now a little longer and has room for more news.

Omni, but in audio form.
The concept is essentially the same as when the podcast was launched in 2018: Omni, but in an audio format.
“Omni Podd aims to be Sweden’s best news summary to listen to. In ten substantial minutes, we guide you through the most important news stories, with the same rigorous news evaluation and broad news overview as in the Omni app,” says Henrik Svensson, project manager for Omni Podd.
Later this fall, the morning podcast will also be launched in video format and on additional platforms.
“We’ve changed the way people read the news. Now we want to do the same for how people listen to and watch the news. Audio and video are particularly important to younger audiences. Omni will, of course, meet those needs,” says Markus Gustafsson, editor-in-chief and CEO of Omni.
“We actually put Omni Podd on hiatus against our better judgment. We knew how much it was appreciated, but we needed to prioritize our resources differently. That’s why it feels especially great that it’s back now…”
